Somerset East Aerodrome
The Somerset East Aerodrome in Kwa Nojoli is operational and looking for growth/business. Several developments are in the pipeline for the development, expansion and operationalization of the facility. The facility currently has 3 staff members and is able to offer Landing, Parking and Cargo Handling services.
The Aerodrome is registered (Registration Number R307) but not licensed therefore it caters to specific target audiences, such as private pilots and aircraft owners, aviation enthusiasts, aviation clubs and schools and travellers within the light category. The following aircrafts in the light category are permitted to land, at their own risk:
- Very light (2 seats)
- Single engine (2-6 seats)
- Light twin (max 6 seats)
- Large aircraft (6- 10 seats)
- Gyrocopter
- Helicopter
Operating Hours
The Aerodrome operational hours are 07:45-16:30 on weekdays. The Aerodrome is closed on weekends and at night but available upon request. Prior permission is required for all use of the Aerodrome.
After hours agreements are mandatory in advance, for all aircraft wishing to operate outside of published opening hours. Aerodrome users are not permitted to arrive out of opening hours. Users may depart out of published opening hours, subject to permission and approval. Festive period closures may apply on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Days. Other closures will be published in advance on the official CDA website.
Online Bookings
Bookings are to be made through the submission of the booking form to smagewu@cacadudevelopment.co.za (Tel 041 508 7017) cc lnomarwayi@cacadudevelopment.co.za (Tel 041 508 7361). Once the request is received, availability of the facility will be confirmed and an invoice of applicable fees will be issued. The facility can only be used once confirmation of booking is received. Payments should be made within 24 hours of use.
