The Cacadu Development Agency [CDA] launched its Corporate Social Investment [CSI] Program in Kirkwood, Sunday River Valley Municipal area, on the 23 May 2024.  The occasion was graced by the presence of the Executive Mayor of Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Councillor Deon de Vos, the Mayor of Sundays River Valley Municipality, Councillor Solethu Lucas, the Board of Directors, Mr Alroy Taai [Chairperson], Mr Fezekile Cotani and Mr Dayalan Pillay as well as the recipients of the CSI funding assistance.

The CDA CSI program encompasses projects that are external to the normal business activities of the company and not directly for purposes of increasing company funding or profit. The CDA uses its reserves to reach out as it understands the needs of its communities district wide. The projects identified and now implemented, have a strong developmental approach and are solely to assist, benefit and uplift the communities in the Sarah Baartman District.

The aim is to make year-on-year financial commitments to positive change in the district. Companies amass profits in communities where they operate and should not sit back and watch while their customers are suffering. The CDA wishes to commend those companies that are already doing their part. What most businesses do not always understand is how much their good deeds are appreciated and valued in communities, which tells a story on their behalf.

It is, therefore, CDA’s wish that any company that needs partnering on various initiatives, engage the CDA as a credible, responsible, and responsive organisation.

The CDA is happy to announce the organisations (NPOs) that since February 2024, when the program was conceived, received assistance amounting to R532 385.89. It is also worth noting that in such a short space of time CDA officials responded effectively and efficiently in ensuring that all due diligence, on-site verifications, and support is provided to all NPOs.
