SENIOR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT MANAGERS

Role Overview

The Senior Project Development Managers will manage the development of the Agency’s programme of economic and infrastructure projects relevant to each of the seven (7) local municipalities constituting the Sarah Baartman District Municipality (SBDM) to stimulate regional socio-economic development. In this role the successful applicants will be the key officers in shaping projects, partnership development and mobilisation of investment/investors for their implementation. The managers will be responsible for the performance of the team in terms of project development and financial performance as well as provide support to the CDA-CEO and other managers within the CDA in delivering the CDA-Board, SBDM Council, Local Municipality and Directorate’s objectives through joined-up service planning, community engagement and the flexible use of resources.

Key Competencies: •Development, planning and implementation of economic and infrastructure projects •Knowledge of funding mechanisms and various Government funded mandates •Understanding of legislation, practices and programmes for economic and infrastructure projects •Experience of managing external consultants and contractors •Ability to work independently and lead a team to deliver on projects •Computer literacy •Writing skills •Business intelligent knowledge •Financial skills •Negotiating skills •Presentation skills.

Requirements: •A recognised three-year National diploma/degree in a field where the role included senior project management •At least three to five years working experience in the same or similar role •Ability to work independently and under pressure •Self-motivated with sense of urgency •High level of confidentiality and trustworthiness •A valid unendorsed driver’s licence.

Salary is commensurate with experience and equivalent to those of senior management staff in local Government.

Terms of appointment: The above position will be offered on a three-year contract appointment with a commensurate remuneration package. The appointment may be renewed for a further term of office subject to set conditions, which includes performance.
